Gua Sha is a holistic treatment derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Specifically shaped stones are carved from bian stone, jade, rose quartz and other semi precious stones to fit the contours of the face. Based on the idea of a connection between one's mind, body and energy (qi) this facial is more than skin deep and helps to re-balance the energy flow through the facial tissues that can be disrupted by stress, tension and inflammation.
Gua Sha can be used in multiple ways with multiple effects and these will be woven in to the Facial at different stages to;
* release restrictions in the facial fascia
* improve lymph drainage
* boost collagen production in areas of fine lines and wrinkles
* sculpt and lift face muscles
* stimulate energy in specific acupressure points on the face.
Cupping Therapy is another ancient holistic technique that has been used in traditional medicine in the East. The cups are either applied in rhythmical strokes or using a flashing technique over specific areas to:
* remove stagnation
* stimulate the microcirculation, bringing oxygenated blood and nutrients to nourish the facial tissues
* reduce puffiness
* increase the efficiency of drainage in the lymphatic network
